Protesting   students have been camping   in and around
the Taiwanese Education Ministry   since Friday.
They're outraged 感到義憤 at a revised 修訂的 curriculum   and textbooks
they say are intended   to brainwash
洗腦、強行灌輸 them into
accepting   Beijing's 'One China' policy  .
On Sunday they held   a news conference 記者會 to outline   their demands  .

廖崇倫, 17-YEAR-OLD STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE, SAYING:
"I think everyone here is willing to get back to their   normal   lives
but before getting   back to normal life,
I think whether   the government body behind me can give us a normal curriculum
and return a normal education is the real   serious   issue   to have to face  .
We will stay here until the issue can be resolved  ."
Beijing has claimed   sovereignty 主權 over   Taiwan since 1949
and wants international recognition   as One China.
The protests reflect   a surge
高漲of nationalism among Taiwan's youth   who are
far   more   likely   than their elders   to identify   as Taiwanese rather   than Chinese.
